SOLO SHOW: EMOTIONALLY UNREASONABLE
Have you ever felt threatened when someone shows you their engagement ring? Have you ever been to a wedding and thought, “these people should NOT be getting married?!” Maria DeCotis has too, except she's the one marrying them. This show is an hour of stand-up and musical comedy about Maria's experience as a professional wedding officiant, where she explores power imbalances, sex robots, turning 30, and her unique perspective on relationships. LYNN T. WALSH: BEFORE THE DRUGS KICK IN
A 62-year-old woman in an insane asylum closes her eyes and becomes a 28-year-old stand-up comedian. Inspired by personal experience, the delivery of Dave Chappelle, Christopher Nolan, Netflix’s Russian Doll and HBO's Hacks, the show is an intimate blend of stand-up, theatre and multiverse time travel. It is dedicated to anyone, especially young mothers of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, who society wrote off as crazy instead of giving them an opportunity to live.
Written and Directed by Mike Lemme | Starring Maria DeCotis
